2257 Going to Affect Talent Big Time

Porn Valley- With last week being the deadline for submission of comments concerning Title 18, Section 2257, https://adultfyi.com/read.aspx?ID=5574, Outback Productions’ Nicole London submitted hers.

And, along with First Amendment attorneys, London’s quick to argue that all the new proposals are quite insane. What particularly irks London is the issue involving talent I.D’s.

“You’re talking about peoples’ driver licenses, social security numbers, passports, addresses, phone numbers, real names,” says London. “Not only that. Someone could steal their identity. I had that done a couple of years ago. Somebody bought a house in my name. Thank God they were living in the house- they got arrested- and it came off of my report real easy.”

It wasn’t fun, however. London had to file a police report. “It was a mess,” she said, because of all the jurisdictional boundaries that were crossed. London said it took six months to get that matter straightened out.

“The people were living in the house,” she said. “How stupid can you be.” London was told that the way they basically operate is to get people with good credit. “They took out a $30,000 personal loan and basically put that as a down payment to the house. Now I understand what people go through when they say their identity has been stolen.” London said she was told that people will go in, buy houses; then a year later, turn around and sell them and walk away with the money.

London says as she understands the new implementations, her records as a performer would be included. “That means my I.D.s are going to be everywhere?” There’s another issue, according to London, that really hasn’t been addressed as far as she can see.

“Say you put your DVDs in to be replicated,” she says. “Now you have to give the replicator the I.D.s and the model releases. How easy would it be for that replicator- if it wasn’t someone trustworthy and we know they’re out there- to turn around and sell those? People are concerned about pirating? You’ve put us on another level. But no one’s even touching this. This is going to affect talent big time.”
