Nearly a week after Christian family values groups raised Cain at reports that the raunchy rock-rapper was performing at an Inauguration youth concert, organizers said yesterday he’s off the lineup.

“He was never booked,” insisted Tracey Schmitt, spokeswoman for the Presidential Inaugural Committee.

Still, the Christian right claimed victory.

Don Wildmon, chairman of the Tupelo, Miss.-based American Family Association, said thousands of his fellow Christian conservatives E-mailed and telephoned inauguration organizers to complain about Kid Rock.

“I think that’s good news,” Wildmon told the Daily News. “It’s regrettable it went on as long as it did.”

Wildmon and other Christian leaders were stunned by news reports that Kid Rock – whose lyrics are laced with tales of sexual exploits, drug abuse and even some derogatory remarks about former First Lady Barbara Bush – would be entertaining young Republicans at President Bush’s second inauguration.

First Daughter Barbara Bush was the co-managing director of the hotly anticipated concert, dubbed “America’s Future Rocks Today.”

Kid Rock is a proud supporter of the GOP, but Christian conservatives questioned the judgment of having the foul-mouthed rock ‘n’ roller who once wore an American flag as a poncho perform at the inauguration.

The complete and final list of entertainers will be announced today, Schmitt said. Last week, organizers said Hilary Duff and JoJo had been confirmed for the youth concert.
