ST. LUCIE COUNTY, FL — A 38-year-old Brandon woman has been released on $250 bail after St. Lucie County Sheriff’s detectives charged her with prostitution, according to an arrest report released Friday.
Sandra Jean Knowles placed an advertisement offering $200 for a “full service” massage on the erotic section on Craigslist on the Internet.
On Tuesday Detective Neil Spector pretended to be a customer and went to the apartment at PGA at St. Lucie West, where he arrested Knowles. She told detectives she placed the ad to make money and that she rents an apartment at PGA about three to four days a week.
The latest internet prostitution arrest comes after a Sheriff’s Office sting in October when 35 prostitutes, pimps and customers using the site was arrested for prostitution.
“People are still using Craigslist to engage in prostitution and it’s still illegal,” Sheriff Ken Mascara said.
