Yakima, Washington -- When you open this door you walk into a world too sexual and inappropriate for some locals.

That's not what the Grapevine Video and Novelty owner thinks.

Jeff Sorenson, Grapevine Video And Novelty says, "We're a clean business our customers like a clean place to shop."

Mary Harris says, "I think they make our community look dirty."

But whether you agree with Jeff or Mary, Yakima City Planning is going over the city's zoning and proposing regulating adult stores like this.

Bill Cook, City Planning says, "There's not even a definition there's nothing that distinguishes what type of books are being sold."

And forcing stores to move 500 feet from schools, churches and residential neighborhoods.

Jeff Sorenson, Grapevine Video & Novelty says, "Yakima is a very big church oriented town and almost everywhere you go you have residence and churches."

Sade Malloy, KIMA Action News says, "Grapevine is surrounded by churches they have one two doors down and another overlooking their store."

Which got us thinking.

With so many churches in town are complaints and local heat from the community also behind the possible zoning change?

Bill says they've received their fare share of calls with most saying...

Bill Cook, City Planning says, "If you can regulate the location of alcohol sales or beer and wine sales shouldn't you also be able to regulate the location of adult businesses."

What about the rumored crime adult stores bring into town, is that part of the problem?

Captain Copeland of Yakima Police says no.

Teresa Griswold says, "You don't need that type of behavior around school around churches it's like two different types of environments one can't go into the other one."
