PAGE, Arizona- from AP - - A man seeking to become the next mayor of Page has been arrested on a sex charge.

Michael Adam Brown faces one felony count of sexual conduct with a minor.

He was being held Tuesday at the Coconino County jail in Page on a $23,000 bond.

Coconino County sheriff's spokesman Gerry Blair says the 29-year-old Brown allegedly had sex with a 17-year-old girl who he knew. Blair says detectives are investigating whether there may be more underage victims.

Brown works as a county juvenile probation officer and is affiliated with at least one organized youth group in Page.

He's scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 30.

The public defender appointed to represent Brown did not immediately return a message left Tuesday by the Associated Press.
