Porn Valley- When it comes to Internet current events, give Jay Ashley an F. Ashley was on Ginger Lynn's show Tuesday night, www.ksexradio.com but refused to answer any questions pertaining to what happened in the Czech Republic where Ashley, apparently on quarantine, was alleged to have worked with at least three European actresses.
Under grilling by Ginger, who all of a sudden became Mike Wallace, Ashley wouldn't budge in comment and said he was standing behind a statement allegedly made by Sin City head David Sturman on avn.com. Except for one minor point. Sturman made the statement on adultfyi.com, http://adultfyi.com/read.aspx?ID=3594
Ashley is also claiming he had been cleared by AIM's Sharon Mitchell before he took off to the Czech Republic.Lynn also asked Ashley what happened with a scheduled appearance on Wankus' show which Ashley supposedly cancelled. According to Ashley, he had not been personally asked to be on the show which would have aired tonight. "I had not been personally asked to be on the show," Ashley said. "No one called me directly. Wankus has been very cool. I've been on his show twice."
By the tone of his answer, though, it sounded like Ashley, if given his druthers, would have preferred to be on Lynn's show for variety's sake. "Plus we've been friends for a long time, much longer than I've known Wankus. No offense, Wankus."
Apparently none taken as Ashley assumed a high altitude horse when questions about the quarantine and his trip arose. Ashley reacted as though all this questioning was news to him that Lisa the Lesbian who co-hosts the program never gave him an indication that he might be put through the wringer. "If you really did do this, you risked peoples' lives," Ginger said. "And you went against the quarantine."
To which Ashley replied: "The statement that was provided by David Sturman to AVN is what we stand behind," he said. Lynn asked what exactly that statement was. Ashley, who's obviously never been on a wild goose chase, kept insisting it was on AVN. "Any further statement would be redundant or unnecessary at this point because it was put out by David Sturman." Ashley claimed that he had a copy of the statement at home.
Lynn said she'd have been pissed if she knew that Ashley had put her life at risk. "And if you didn't do that I would want to know that, too." Sounding like a member of the Gambino family assuming the Fifth, Ashley kept referring to Sturman's supposed AVN statement. Lynn wanted to know when said statement was coming out. Ashley said it was on the site the other day. Lynn said she wanted to hear it in his own words. "You can't defend yourself or admit to anything? I just want to know. This is really a big issue."
Apparently searching for some snuggle room, Ashley said Lynn would have to understand that Aurora Snow was under contract to Sin City and that Sturman, being the owner, issued an official statement.
"Why would I go and say something against that official statement to possibly jeopardize anything on her contract," Ashley said. "That's not what I'm here to do. I was here to promote Madness Pictures. What happened on that trip, albeit unfortunate, there was a statement provided. And that statement was accurate. It's not appropriate to speak on that right now due to the fact that the subject is a week and a half old." Ashley then alluded to current events for which he certainly didn't come off as a Jeopardy contestant.
Lynn began citing the stories on AVN which pertained to Ashley. Nothing about a Sturman statement. "You didn't look," Ashley challenged her. Lynn then read the AVN story which pretty much was a re-count of the story broken earlier in the day on adultfyi.com, stating that Ashley had lied about his quarantine status and worked in the Czech Republic.Noting an absence of a Sturman comment, Lynn wanted Ashley to give it to her in his own words and own up to a mistake.
Ashley then, playing the lawyer trump card, replied that Lynn was asking him to make comments against the advice of counsel of Sin City. "It's inappropriate for you to ask me that at this time," he said. "We talked about this. I never agreed to talk about anything like this." Lynn said she was under the impression from talking to Lisa The Lesbian that Ashley wanted to come on the show and tell his story.
"That's what I thought we were going to talk about," said Lisa. Ashley then referred to something as "being handled" which Lisa interpreted as Ashley getting in apparent trouble were he to speak beyond the bounds. Ashley said as far as Snow was concerned, "her situation is what it is- it's not pertinent to this point."
Ashley then went on to say that he had a talk with Sharon Mitchell that he was cleared to work "with a brand new test in hand." Ashley said he has tests and that he has been cleared. Lisa chimed in saying that she was told that before Ashley even left the country that he had been cleared to work.
Putting the onus on Ginger, Ashley said he couldn't understand how she could lie to him. Ginger said she couldn't understand how Ashley could lie to the entire industry. Ashley said he didn't lie to anyone. But Lynn said she couldn't have him on the how and not ask about it.
"The entire time you keep pursuing it and that doesn't seem to be an appropriate answer for you," Ashley replied, the chip on his shoulder growing in evidence. "I said it a few times and that doesn't seem to be an appropriate answer for you."
Lynn said it wasn't cool and that maybe Ashley should leave for not feeling comfortable with it. Which he did.
