BELLEFONTE, Pa. – from www.myfoxphilly.com – Joe Amedola, the attorney for Jerry Sandusky, apparently gave out the number for a gay-porn site during his post-hearing press conference on Tuesday.
Amendola was speaking at the Centre County courthouse after his client, the former Penn State assistant football coach, waived a preliminary hearing.
At one point, Amendola told the press that if they believed Mike McQuery, assistant who said Sandusky raped a young boy, then “I suggest you dial 1-800-REALITY.”
The number is actually for a phone sex service that charges 99 cents a minutes and specializes in pornography for gay and bisexual callers. That fact was verified by Fox 29.
The phone flub was just one of several odd occurrences at the hearing in Centre County, where Amendola had said for weeks he would confront as many as 10 accusers at the hearing.
Amendola spoke for more than 30 minutes after the hearing, where he stunned observers by waiving a proceeding where he could learn more about Sandusky’s accusers.
Instead, some of the accusers who journeyed to Bellefonte, Pa., were upset they didn’t get their day in court – for now. Others were relieved they didn’t have to testify again.
One report indicated 11 men ready to testify that Sandusky abused them as children though their participation in The Second Mile, a charity Sandusky founded in the 1970s.
Many also said Sandusky used his connection to Penn State football to abuse them on campus as part of activities related to The Second Mile.
