BALTIMORE — A link on Baltimore City’s official Web site led Internet browsers to a pornographic Web site instead of a list of grassroots organizations — but a hacker wasn’t responsible.
According to city officials, the city regularly publishes links to community groups.
“In this case, the community group did not pay to renew its ownership of the web address, and it was apparently sold to a porn company. Our webmaster is removing the link from our Web site,” city spokeswoman Raquel Guillory said through a written release.
That link has since been removed from the city’s Web site.
