NY- Not only did a creepy custodian use cameras hidden in Brooklyn school bathrooms to make sick videos - he also collected bestiality tapes, law enforcement sources said yesterday.
Investigators say Michael Conte, 46, planted cameras at Brooklyn Technical High School and at Westinghouse High School, where he secretly recorded female teachers and girls as young as 14.
It was not clear how many of those tapes were in Conte's 900-tape archive of depravity found in his Staten Island home - but sources said many of the videos were commercially produced and depicted bestiality.
"My room was right down the hall from that bathroom," said Sheila Solow, a former Westinghouse High School teacher. "I could've been videotaped a million times."
So far, the majority of the homemade videos have been traced to Suffolk County, L.I., where Conte was arrested Sunday. Police said he planted a small camera in the bathroom of a friend's home there.
Under questioning, he admitted similar crimes at the Brooklyn schools where he used to work, sources said.
"It was almost as if he knew he had a problem," a law enforcement source said. "He was the one who brought up the other locations."
Court records show the recordings from Westinghouse were made from September to December, captured through a tiny hole in the wall of a fourth-floor faculty bathroom.
It's not clear when the recordings were made at a girls' locker room at Brooklyn Tech, but school officials noted Conte hadn't worked there since 1994.
Conte, held in lieu of $75,000 bond, faces up to four years in prison on each of the two felony counts of unlawful surveillance.
"Things may not be what they appear in regards to these allegations," said Joseph Tacopina, one of Conte's attorneys.
