Sandy Bunz posts: It was in 2001 that I first attended an AVN show in Las Vegas. The show was fun and impressive as the exhibitors were in the risqué mood. The theme was wild with abandon as the public was allowed to intermingle with the pornstars.
At one booth an exhibitor had a bed set up and two very petite local strippers dressed in pasties and string bikinis.
For $5 a member of the public could get a photo taken with the two srippers on the bed.
I have such a photo with the cute stippers under each arm, laying on the bed.
I have been an exhibitor in Berlin for the past four years. Three years in building 18, one in the business to business section. Never again will I be in the business to business section as it resembles a morgue. Although the sections of the show that are accessable by the public are better than expected.
Not only is there a constant flow of credit card paying retailers and distributors, the show is entertaining. There are dancers swinging on poles, models nude, live sex acts and lots for all to see. The show
is run by a great guy Peter Buebel who is out with the exhibitors helping them set up and such. His entire staff is helpful and professional so one's best presentation can be had on the trade shows’ floor.
The exhibitors are festive with food and drink for the enjoyment of all. Smoking is allowed. The talent on hand is encouraged to have contact
with the public and add energy to the show. In Berlin the pornstars pick people out of the crowd and have them participate with them on the stage!!
An ever horny international superstar Ava Devine was grabbing members of the public rubbing their crotches, unzipping and fondling their penises while she shouted to the eager crowd. One time she even went down on her knees and applied a few kisses on the happy guys penis.
At the booth next to mine was a German bordello www.ritter11.de that had live sex shows about every two hours.
At the gym the other evening I ran into a fellow producer who has always had a big booth in Las Vegas to display his company’s fine array of products. He told me he was done with the shows. The big expense and physical ordeal was not worth the little gain at the Vegas show any longer.
For those who want to spend for an expomark type of show they can buy the buyers a room and a trip to Phoenix or Florida. I really think there are a lot of producers in this business that want to follow the herd in regards to all forms of advertising rather it be print or trade show.
The main difference between the Berlin and Vegas shows is the attitudes of the organizers. In Berlin they are helpful and promote free sex. In Vegas they have their hands out and kick out those who bare their bodies. It will be very interesting to see what kind of a show is in Vegas this year.
Perhaps the organizers should pay to get a license from the county so they can put sex back into their show.
