Nevada- Prostitution is legal in some counties in Nevada, so advertising the whorehouses should be legal too, two publishers and a brothel owner claim in Federal Court.
The publishers of the High Desert Advocate and Las Vegas CityLife and the owner of the Shady Lady Ranch have sued the Nevada attorney general and secretary of state and the Clark County district attorney on constitutional claims. Nevada law makes advertising a whorehouse punishable by fines and up to six months in prison. The Shady Lady wants to advertise its legal services in its co-plaintiffs publications, and says it has a constitutional right to do so. Plaintiffs seek no money, just the right to publish. They are represented by Allen Lichtenstein.
