Minnesota- A Lakeville police officer and another man are charged with giving two teenage girls alcohol, then taking pictures of them lying on the floor with their shirts off.
The Dakota County Attorney’s office filed criminal charges today against 25 year old Nicholas Reitmer [pictured] of Lakeville and Shin Taniguchi, 25 of Apple Valley.
Investigators say the men invited two 17-year-old females to Reitmeier’s Lakeville home in late December, knowing how old they were.
They say Reitmeier and Taniguchi gave them beer and martinis, then took 31 photos and 4 videos of the girls.
Nineteen of the pictures show the girls partially undressed and kissing. In the other 12 photos, Taniguchi and an adult female are pointing a pistol and a handgun at each other, one of which is Reitmeier’s police-issued weapon.
Taniguchi showed the photos to a co-worker, and the two girls involved told police in detail what had happened.
“They were taken advantage of here by two adult men,” said Dakota County Attorney James Backstrom. “And that’s wrong. And it shouldn’t happen.”
Reitmeier and Taniguchi are charged with:
Use of a Minor in a Pornographic Depiction, Photograph or Video (felony)
Possession of a pornographic Depiction, Photograph or Video Involving a Minor (felony)
Reckless Use of a Gun (a misdemeanor)
Intentionally Pointing a Gun at Another (a misdemeanor)
In addition, Reitmeier was charged with two counts of Furnishing Alcoholic Beverages to Minors (a gross misdemeanor) and Taniguchi was charged with one count of Dissemination of a Pornographic Depiction, Photograph or Video Involving Minors (a felony).
Reitmeier, who has been on adminstrative leave since the investigation began, made his first court appearance Tuesday. Taniguchi is being summoned into court in about 30 days.
