CHATTANOOGA, Tennessee – A young couple have sued their landlord for invasion of privacy, outrage and emotional distress, claiming he installed hidden cameras to photograph them coming naked for his sexual gratification. They claim the landlord, Leasie Eugene Roberts, has been criminally charged with this. The wife became suspicious after seeing a blinking red light in her bedroom. She says Roberts told her it was a smoke alarm, then later that day she says she saw him carrying a VCR out of the house.
The next day, she says, she found him in the attic, and he said he was installing lights. After he left, she found “a camera hidden in the new light fixture the defendant had installed.” They called the police, who arrested him, the complaint states. They seek punitive damages. They are represented by John Cavett Jr. in Hamilton County Court.
