from www.nbclosangeles – The subject of missionary positions is likely to come up in one form or another Wednesday night when adult movie star Ron Jeremy debates pastor Craig Gross.
Jeremy is one of the adult entertainment industry’s most recognizable figures with one of its most recognizable physiques. Gross is the founder of Triple X Church, Strip Church and Fireproof Ministries.
Although a porn star-pastor debate might not sound like the stuff of Lincoln-Douglas, the two have produced lively and insightful discussions in the past. Don’t expect a lot of emphatic finger wagging and podium pounding — they genuinely get along.
Here’s a post from Gross after their September 2006 debate at James Madison University.
“After the debate, Ron and I headed to IHOP,” Gross wrote.
That was after Gross picked up Jeremy in a rental car and trekked through a “ton of fog.”
“The debate lasted 2 plus hours,” Gross wrote. “Some great questions. I even spoke with a girl afterwards who said her whole view of porn was changed after hearing the debate.”
So neither participant takes himself too seriously. Watch these two reasonable men Wednesday night when they participate in “The Great Porn Debate” at Bovard Auditorium on the USC campus.

* Gross has 11,000 followers on Twitter. Jeremy has appeared in more than 1,000 adult films
* Gross authored a book titled, “Jesus Loves You, This I Know.” Jeremy also wrote a book — “The Hardest (Working) Man in Showbiz.”
* Jeremy was featured on “Bunny Ranch: Vol. 1.” Gross employs Rex the Rabbit to “help you navigate the issues of sex, porn and everything in between.”

(One of his nicknames is, after all, “Hedgehog.”) After appearing in nearly 2,000 adult films, Jeremy is considered an elder statesman of porn.
On the other hand, Las Vegas’ Craig Gross is the founder of both the Strip Church and Fireproof Ministries that reaches out to “unchurched people,” as well as the Triple X Church, which is not so much a church as “a Web network that helps those struggling with pornography or workers in the sex industry.”
The two men will face off in what’s described as a friendly debate titled “The Pastor and the Porn Star.” What the debate could be over is unclear — theology? bukkake techniques? Jeremy, besides being a porn icon, is Jewish, so it will be interesting to see what common ground he and Gross will find. A press release says Gross will try to persuade Jeremy of “Jesus’ love for Jeremy and all porn stars while drawing attention to the damage that pornography causes.”
By a coincidence, Gross has a book out called Jesus Loves You . . . This I Know, which, we are told, “shares the simple message that Jesus loves you no matter who you are or what you have done.” Or, in Jeremy’s case, who you have done. It all takes place where the spirit and the body meet, USC.
