from www2.counton2.com - A teacher, Cornelius Davis, 29, acting as a counselor for Special Olympics was arrested Sunday accused of criminal sexual conduct with an underage girl who was competing in the Special Olympics.
According to an incident report filed by Mt. Pleasant police, officers responded to a hotel Sunday morning on a call of possible criminal sexual conduct with a minor. A woman said that her daughter had had sex with her teacher, Davis, who the report says was acting as a counselor for the Special Olympics.
The reports says Davis spoke to a teacher on Friday, March 2nd and said he needed to take the victim to see her mother at a different hotel. The next day a Special Olympic teammate of the victim said the victim admitted to having sex with Davis.
The victim was then taken to a hospital where she reportedly told a nurse she had sex with Davis once Thursday and again in a hotel Friday night in Mt. Pleasant.
Davis is listed as a teaching assistant at Brookland-Cayce high school. Davis has been placed on administrative leave and is not allowed back on school property.
