Philadelphia- from www.kyw1060.com- A 22-year-old woman, the younger half of an alleged daughter-mother prostitution team, has been sentenced to probation.

Defendant Tami Smith (pictured) had pleaded “no contest” to charges that she had conspired with her mother, Traci Young, to commit prostitution, soliciting for jobs on the Internet via the web site “Craig’s List.”

An undercover officer responded to one of their ads, and the the pair was arrested.

Smith’s attorney, Dennis Turner, says this was not some grand scheme. He says his client needs help:

“It’s actually just two people, drug dependent, trying to feed their habit by selling their bodies. That happens all the time in Philadelphia. The unique thing about it is mother and daughter and Craig’s List.”

The mother, Young, had initially pleaded guilty in this case but then withdrew the plea, and will stand trial later this month. Her legal counsel has declined comment.
