LOS ANGELES, CA. — Interracial porn thriller Asia Noir 6: Evil Sex Trap has racked up five nominations in the 2009 AVN Awards, marking yet more recognition for Asian-themed porn director David Aaron Clark’s premier Black-on-Asian feature line.
Produced through Clark’s Serious Mirror Productions for Metro Interactive’s Video Team label, AN6 is nominated for “Best Ethnic-themed Release—Asian,” the category won by Asia Noir 2: Rise of the Asianatrix in 2003 and Asia Noir 5: A Lust Supreme in 2006.
The title also garnered nods in the category of “Best Art Direction,” “Best Videography,” “Best Director—Ethnic Video,” and “Best Packaging.”
The video stars MR. MARCUS as an amnesiac police detective who finds himself in an abandoned building full of seductive but scary Asian sirens that include LANA VIOLET, ANGE VENUS and MYLA MONTEZ.
“Circumstances required that we shoot in two days, with just about two weeks to edit. I credit my amazing collaborators that it turned out so well,” Clark said, praising long-time videographer GLENN BAREN as well as mainstream FX artist GRAY CREASEY and adult performer AIDEN STARR, who both provided art direction and special makeup effects.
The packaging, created by Metro lead designer MIKE LOWRY, includes a second disc with highlights from previous volumes of the ASIA NOIR series.
Clark, who has directed since 2002 for Video Team during its era as an independent entity, also remarked that, “Video Team was once committed to the production of quality ethnic fare and hopefully Metro will take the noms as an indication it’s a genre worth continuing.”
DAC’s two other 2008 Serious Mirror titles for Metro, NO MAN’S LAND: ASIAN EDITION volumes 6 and 7, are also represented on the nominations lists. The entire series is competing in the “Best Ethnic-Themed Series—Asian” category, while a surreal, manga-influenced scene from NO MAN’S LAND: ASIAN EDITION 6 featuring LANA CROFT, KITTY, JANDI LIN and ANGE VENUS is nominated for “Best All-Girl Sex Scene.”
Serious Mirror Productions is Clark’s production entity, and also releases the ASIAN MOUTH CLUB series as well as previous AVN-nominated title DIARY OF A MAD PORN DIRECTOR through Van Nuys-based Madness Pictures, which is owned and operated by director Andre Madness.
