Myrtle Beach, SC from www.thesunnews.com – Eight people were charged last week with filming a movie involving simulated sex acts near the Second Avenue Pier in Myrtle Beach, according to a police report.
Andrew Thomas Valenti, 20, of Chapel Hill, N.C.; Joseph Mark Flanders, 21, of Westerville, Ohio; William Andrew Gorrell, 27, of Winston-Salem, N.C.; Taylor McKenzie Hancock, 21, of Sante Fe, N.M.; Keenan John Jackson, 21, of Middleburg, Va.; Samuel Merritt Brown, 21, of Charlotte, N.C.; Dylan Curtis Conrad, 21, of Winston-Salem; and John Chamberlain Maynard, 22, of Winston-Salem, were charged with participation in preparation of obscene material.
Police responded to near the Second Avenue Pier after several people complained that a sex movie was being made, the report states.
The officer observed Flanders standing in front of Hancock, who had his pants down and was wearing boxer shorts. Hancock was simulating a sex act on Flanders, the officer reported.
Several witnesses told the officer they saw the two engaged in a sex act but did not see any nudity, the report states. The officer did not see any nudity, he reported.
The officer learned that the suspects were students filing a movie.
Officers arrested the suspects and confiscated a jacket embroidered with “police,” a movie script, scene board, earphone with sound recording equipment and microphone, spotlight, video camera, light meter, photographic lens and tool belt with photography tools, the report shows.
Bail was set at $10,000 each by a judge in Myrtle Beach Municipal Court.
