Evil Angel Productions had a memorable and successful evening at the 2012 AVN Awards which took place at The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel, Las Vegas on Saturday, January 21.

The show started with a simple slideshow honoring the year’s Hall of Fame inductees, which included Evil Angel director Nacho Vidal, and a posthumous induction for David Aaron Clark, whose last feature “PURE” was released by Evil Angel in 2009.

Then the live show started with a breathtaking performance by Evil Angel director Belladonna and four female dancers. Belladonna has been training as an aerial silk performer for several years, and with each successive drop from high above the stage, the crowd of industry executives, performers and fans gasped.

The first award of the evening was the Best Oral Sex Scene, with Brooklyn Lee and Juelz Ventura accepting for their scene in Mike Adriano’s “American Cocksucking Sluts”. A few awards later, Belladonna returned to the stage to accept with Dana DeArmond for their Girl/Girl Scene in “Belladonna: Sexual Explorer”.

During the night, Female Performer of the Year and Male Performer of the Year honors were bestowed on Evil Angel director-performers Bobbi Starr [pictured] and Manuel Ferrara. While this was Bobbi’s first time winning an overall performer award, Manuel’s fourth capture of the Male Performer of the Year title is an industry record.

Legendary performer Rocco Siffredi once again was named Male Foreign Performer of the Year, for his work this past year in Europe, which was in addition to strong scenes he filmed in America.

Bobbi Starr was also awarded the Best Porn Star Website with her site BobbiStarr.com. In her first year as a director for Evil Angel, she was awarded Best All-Sex Release for “Bobbi’s World”.

Company owner John Stagliano offered this praise of Bobbi’s first year as a director, “Bobbi Starr is a sexual performer of incredible sophistication. As a director she couples this intelligence with an intuitive understanding of how to make a scene real and intense. Add a crazy imagination and we have the most exciting new director at Evil Angel since…dare I say Belladonna. There is something about female directors that I am really getting off on now. Her new title “Occupy My Ass” displays these virtues in a very gritty and artistic way.”

Manuel Ferrara also received several other awards, including Best Gonzo Series (“Raw”) Best Anal Series (“Evil Anal”), and Best Big Butt Series (“Phat Bottom Girls”). Evil Angel General Manager Christian Mann spotted a trend: “The consistent theme for Evil Angel directors and movies was that we won so many of the awards that are about sexual intensity and the performances that our directors bring to our releases.

Getting trophies for categories like best oral, best anal, best gonzo, best all-sex, most outrageous sex scene, etc. tells me that our company has stayed true to John Stagliano’s vision that Evil Angel porn should be first and foremost about the sex. Of course it’s extra special to see our boss get the well deserved Best Specialty Series for “Buttman’s Stretch Class”.” Stagliano said, “I had wanted to do a series like Stretch Class for years. It is awesome that my favorite kind of porn, single girl tease, is getting recognition.”

Evil Angel swept the oral categories of the evening. Mike Adriano’s “American Cocksucking Sluts” was named Best Oral Release, and Joey Silvera’s “Face Fucking Inc.” won the award for Best Oral Series. “American Cocksucking Sluts” also won Most Outrageous Sex Scene. Joey Silvera’s “The Next She-Male Idol” topped the Best Transsexual Release category.

The company’s online presence was also acknowledged during the ceremony. FameDollars, the company behind EvilAngel.com took home the trophy for Best Affiliate Program, and EvilAngelVideo.com was named Best Studio Website.
