New York City – The legendary Exotic Erotic Expo and Ball, coming to New York City, June 16 and 17, has been recentlylauded by leading adult industry trade magazines, entertainers, and personalities as #1 adult-themed exposition to ever land in the Big Apple.
The publishers of ADULT STORE BUYER Magazine (www.asbmagazine.com) and sister publication EXOTIC DANCER CLUB BULLETIN Magazine (www.exoticdancer.com), report that many in the adult industry have long been waiting for a professionally produced adult erotic expo in the nation’s #1 market: New York City. The Exotic Erotic Expo and Ball, which was founded in San Francisco, California, has been drawing 25,000 international attendees each year to the massive Cow Palace for 7 of it’s 27-years. The first ever New York City Exotic Erotic Expo and Ball is anticipated to elevate East Coast adult entertainment and product awareness on par with it’s West Coast sister erotic exposition, and other leading adult expos, such as Vegas’ Adult Entertainment Expo and Erotica-LA.
Fledgling producers have attempted erotic expos in previous years in the Big Apple, but the Exotic Erotic Expo producers are anything but fledgling with a three decade-long track record of success. Could this be the adult erotic expo New York City sorely needs? Industry anticipation continues to grow since the New York Show was announcedearly in 2006.
Dennis Hof, the effusive Bunny Ranch owner and star of HBO’s Cathouse, states, “Our success correlates favorably with large adult gatherings when they’re done right. I believe the Exotic Erotic Expo and Ball will pack the house and be an ideal networking event that will move product direct to the consumer. This is a smart and well-run show, and as a leading sponsor, I’ve locked out my competition. I’m also personally going on Howard Stern Show to help promote the Exotic Erotic Expo and Ball, and that should tell you how I feel.”
Evan Seinfeld of ClubTera.com, states, “Tera and I participate in the Exotic Erotic Ball in San Francisco because we love the producers, the way we are treated, and the production and the quality of the consumer that attends. I believe the New York City Expo will be huge for the industry and it’s a smart business decision to be a part of it.”
“Unlike food or technology shows which are in the hands of seasoned pro’s, every year somebody new tries to produce an erotic expo,” says Howard Mauskopf, Producer of both the San Francisco and New York City Exotic Erotic Expo and Ball. “But you can’t just fill a room with booths and expect to fill the aisles with attendees. You needentertainment, which creates great anticipation among the participants and guests, which is the Exotic Erotic Ball. The Expo culminates in a massive and festive masquerade loaded with headline music, burlesque, fetish fashion, circus acts, contests, and the bizarre – and it’s all presented with high production value and self-effacing humor. Businesses that exhibit in our Expo do so in anticipation of the Ball. The Ball draws the people, makes them alert, and their alertness makes them impressionable – they retain sponsor logos and messages at this event, and also spend a lot of money. We do a lot of marketing to reinforce logo and branding efforts for our sponsors.”
“I have never seen a show that is structured any better when it comes to generating commerce. The Exotic Erotic Expo producers are very sophisticated and understand the adult industry and my business,” says Ellen Mason of Intimate Associates, a leading distributor of adult novelties.
The June 2006 event in New York City has an Expo whose lineup includes fashion shows from Lust Designs and Dark Garden, wine tastings by Cleavage Creek, panel discussions on First Amendment Rights featuring 15 adult stars and moguls, and the presentation of a Lifetime Achievement Award to a “surprise recipient”. This award waspresented to Larry Flynt at the October 2005 Exotic Erotic Expo and Ball in a wonderfully emotional ceremony; There are rumors Sly Stone will appear at the New York City event, but the Ball denies it. Sponsors include Metro, Hotmovies.com, the Museum of Sex, as well as Genesis, Penthouse and Oui Magazines. Genesis’ lineup of adultstarlets includes Taryn Thomas, Taylor Wayne, Carmen Luvana “and a dozen more” – according to Genesis Magazine editor Dan Davis.
The Exotic Erotic Expo occurs at Pier 94 from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM on Friday June 16 and from Noon to 6PM on Saturday, June 17, 2006. Then it closes for 3 hours and re-opens as part of the Exotic Erotic Ball on June 17 from 9PM to 3AM. The Ball lineup includes mash-up stars Smash-up Derby, King Norris (featuring Howard Stern Show co-host Fred Norris), the legendary Thomas Dolby, and Tommy Lee as guest DJ. The costume contests feature $10,000 in prizes; the master of ceremonies is the fiendish Paul Nathan with Violet Blue and Raquel Devine as his sidekicks. Tera Patrick will be among those stars that help judge the contests and conduct the festivities under Nathan’s direction. Burlesque acts include the Porcelain Twinz and Naughty School Girls, and overall, the Ball features a staggering 45 acts over 4 stages.
Exotic Erotic Ball Founder and co-producer Perry Mann puts it in perspective: “The Exotic Erotic Ball has remained true to its roots. We have never been afraid to put money into production in order to give people a quality show that results in business. Everything we do in San Francisco, we’ll be doing in New York City. This show will be a big deal for the industry and for New York City. Howard and I both grew up in New York City and consider ourselves to be NewYorkers. I say join us at the Exotic Erotic Expo and Ball in New York City for a true celebration of fantasy and freedom.”
