Cain writes: Long time reader, first time I am writing to you. The same goes with porn. Been a long time fan and really learned a great deal about the industry from your various sites. First started reading you when you
were still with AVN.

I am hoping you would post this (or some of it), but I am not sure if
your relationship with skeeter would proclude you from doing so.

I figured out porn like most people. I would pop into my local porno
shop and check out boxes and decide from there what I would rent.
This was before the Internet ruled and going to my local shop was my
only source. After many hits and misses I figured out that the stuff I
liked was Patrick Collins, John Leslie, Buttman, Joey Silvera and
eventually I hit upon Jules Jordan.

I honestly was not aware of Skeeter until I began reading about the
industry online. After that I decided to check out some of his work
and it just wasn't my thing. It was ok, but it didn't hit me on the
same level as any of the others I mentioned.

The more I read your conversations, the less I wanted to see his work.
Does he realize he comes across as being extremely jealous and angry
at other people's successes? You seem like a pretty intelligent guy
and on some level you must see the point I am making. Most of the
conversations I've read are him lashing out on how others are more
successful and more famous then he is.

There was a well written post recently on LukeIsBack and I am curious
why skeeter has not responded and said anything about it. Instead he
keeps repeating himself about the same things.

I would also like to point out that in ALL forms of entertainment
often times the people who come up with a style don't get the credit
for it and instead the person who refines the style and brings it to
the masses will get the success and credit.

Many people know who George Lucas is and what Star Wars is. But not
many know who Akira Kurosawa was or his movie Hidden Fortress. George
copied a great deal from Kurosawa, from his shooting techniques to
story elements and plots to the wipes he used in the final edits.
George took the idea and plot of Hidden Fortress and applied it to his
own work. That influence along with other influences helped create one
of the great classics of modern cinema.

Obviously porn is nowhere near that level, but the point is still the
same. All people are influenced and in Jules Jordan's case he took his
influences and refined them in a smart way that had a wide appeal.

Thanks to your site I came across the name many years ago of Alex
deRenzy. I watched some of his work, including his Rex Borksy stuff.
I can honestly say at this point that real person everyone copied is
Alex.

Skeeter can now get off his soapbox, because its not Jim Powers or
anyone else that Jules copied. In the end YOU ALL copied Alex. And
just like Kurosawa, he should rightfully get the credit for being the
true influence.

Take care.
