The pixieish New Jersey prepster who ran the hooker ring that took down ex-Gov. Eliot Spitzer deserves the slammer, federal prosecutors say.
The feds say Cecil (Katie) Suwal deserves to go away for 21 to 27 months for helping boyfriend Mark Brener launder dirty money and recruit high-priced call girls for the Emperors Club VIP.
"Cecil Suwal devoted nearly four years of her life to promoting prostitution and helping herself and her co-conspirators profit from that activity," Assistant U.S. Attorney Daniel Stein writes. "During that time, Suwal did no legitimate work and supported herself entirely through crime."
Suwal, 24, is scheduled to be sentenced tomorrow before Manhattan Federal Judge Barbara Jones.
A tearful Suwal pleaded guilty in June. "I was involved in the daily operations of this disgusting thing," she told Jones.
Deleted from Stein's sentencing memorandum are sections that detail several personal issues from Suwal's past.
"We acknowledge that certain aspects of the defendant's personal history and characteristics mitigate the need for punishment in a compelling way," Stein adds.
Suwal ran the $1 million Emperors Club ring with Brener, 62, from a Cliffside Park, N.J., apartment, where they booked call girls across the globe for $5,000-an-hour liaisons with well-to-do johns.
