NY- A Bronx firefighter facing an administrative trial for his part in a tawdry sex scandal resigned yesterday.

Tony DeLuca, one of three firefighters accused of having sex with a Bravest groupie at his firehouse, quit the department yesterday just days before he was scheduled to go before an administrative judge.

On Aug. 20, 2004, the woman paid a late-night visit to Engine 75/Ladder 33 in The Bronx – nicknamed “Animal House” – and had sex with DeLuca and two of his colleagues, Christian Waugh and Anthony Loscuito.

The woman – a mother from Staten Island suffering from bipolar disorder who developed a firefighter fetish after 9/11 – called police and accused the men of rape, before recanting the allegation.

DeLuca initially denied having sex with the woman but later admitted under oath what happened.

Shortly after the affair became public, Commissioner Nicholas Scoppetta vowed, “Anyone who was involved in sexual activity at this firehouse will be fired.”

Waugh was sacked in December after refusing to cooperate with investigators and Loscuito is scheduled to face an administrative judge next month.

DeLuca, a nine-year veteran who was married at the time of the incident, will not receive any pension or health benefits.
