Two prostitutes arrested today claimed to have come to town for the Super Bowl to make extra money, and one even claimed to work at the Moonlight Bunny Ranch in Nevada, Tampa police say.
Police, however, say both women have local addresses.
Marissa Smith, 26, and Karen Tyborowski, [pictured] 38, were both charged with prostitution; Smith also was charged with cocaine possession.
Undercover officers were driving an unmarked car along Hubert Avenue when one of the women flagged them down, according to a Tampa Police Department news release.
Tyborowski offered one of the detectives sex for $150, and Smith offered the other detective sex for $100, according to the release.
“They drove to the Comfort Inn, 4732 N. Dale Mabry Hwy, and told the detectives to invite their friends,” the release states. “Marked units arrived and took the duo to jail.”
Smith and Tyborowski remain in Orient Road Jail. Tyborowski’s bail is set at $500; Smith’s is set at $2,250.
