Other names tied to the project include Demi Moore, who this week was inked to play legendary feminist Gloria Steinem; Adam Brody, who’ll play porn actor Harry Reems; and James Franco, who’ll play Playboy’s Hugh Hefner.

The Big Love star told ABC News last month she anticipates the part is “going to be really hard and kind of terrifying at the same time.

“It’s something completely different. I do have some liberties, there but I am playing someone that existed in history and had quite an established reputation for something very extreme.”

Speaking of Playboy, this month’s cover girl, Lindsay Lohan, was tied to an earlier Lovelace project until her legal woes caused its producers to bail out on the embattled beauty.
