OCALA, FLA. – Dr. Asad Ullah Qamar of the Central Florida Heart Center forcibly kissed and battered a woman with epilepsy and other medical problems who sought his care, the woman claims in Marion County Court. The woman, who also has a pulmonary embolism and Klippel-Trenaunay Syndrome, a rare, progressive and debilitating circulatory disease, says Qamar began her physical exam by “roll(ing) his stool until he was between the legs of Plaintiff … reached out to her, grabbing her face with both hands, held her face and then kissed her on the mouth, moving his hands to her neck and hair.
Plaintiff (name) stood, left the examining room and went directly to the bathroom, vomited, and left the premises with her family. … In the days that followed, Qamar called (her) and told her that she ‘was absolutely delicious’.” Then, she claims, Qamar’s office called and said she had to come in for a medical test, which she did reluctantly, and Qamar repeated his sexual advance. She seeks punitive damages for battery, outrage and abuse of a vulnerable adult. Her husband sues for loss of consortium. They are represented by Sherwood Coleman of Clearwater.
