Porn Valley- Over the years I've written a few Frank "Opie" Towers is back in the business stories. And here's one more. Towers, again, back in the business, was a guest on KSEX's Layla Jade show Friday night and was talking about what a great job it is being a male performer and getting paid to work with beautiful women.
"It's so easy to get a hard on, working with beautiful girls all the time," said Towers who talked about a time he had a cancellation when he was scheduled to work with Penelope Pumpkins. Towers remembers it being around 1999 when Pumpkins cancelled a scene for whatever.
"She was coming up from San Diego- and they brought in a second stringer," Towers recalls. "I'm not going to mention her name but she probably shouldn't have been in porn." According to Towers, the scene took place in a bubble bath."We were supposed to act like we were a freshly married couple," he continued. "We had a champagne bottle and everything. I went down on her and it was very unpleasant. I'm going to tell you the truth, this is the worst scene I've ever had." Jade took that to mean that the girl was already in the water and the scene was still gross.
"The suds kind of simmered down and there was just water," said Towers. "There was like dark brown stuff floating. But I will not say her name. I'm not like that." Towers, who didn't think that the girl was still in the business, talked to the director and told him it was going to be hard to get a hard on.
"It's one of those things where you want to say, gee, I forgot my AIDs test," Towers went on to say. "But we were already half way." The director told him, look, Frank, we've got to get through this scene no matter what. "I need this footage."So Towers plugged his nose and proceeded like a trouper, according to him. Quite the contrary, Towers said he's had scenes that have been terrific- "They've been heaven. You're smiling all the rest of the day- my God, I can't believe I was just with that chick. And I got paid for that?"
Jade asked Towers about some of his best scenes and Towers remembered the time he was working with Jenna Jameson and Diva in The Dance Party [1994].
"That was just fantastic," he said. "That was one of your dream scenes." Towers said he always liked working with Kaylan Nicole and most recently with Harmony.
"She's just totally into it," said Towers. "She's one of the best girls I've ever met in the industry."Jade said a lot of people get the impression that guys have it made working in the business, not realizing the job-related stress.
"You have to start and stop and you got to keep it hard," Towers pointed out. Pamela Peaks, who was also in the show with Towers, feels the male talent is underpaid.
Peaks said once you've done your first movie as male talent you really develop an appreciation for other male porn stars. Peaks said her personal gripe was with guys who looked homeless or were smelly. Having been in the escorting field, Peaks said the hygiene aspect was a particularly sensitive issue with her and that male talent should know the score. Peaks said she's worked with some pretty big names but still couldn't believe some of the things she had to deal with. Peaks brought up one of the first sets she ever worked on.
"I couldn't believe it- I don't think that guy touched a shower in two weeks," she said. "And he looked like he had come from the street. Like one of the people who'd be asking for quarters in front of AIM or something." Peaks said the guy showed her his test and she thought it was a joke.
"It was really tough," she continued. "And I didn't know at the time that you could say fuck you and get somebody else. I didn't know my rights as a female- nobody had told me that." Peaks wished she had known it after the fact, she said. For her part, Jade remembered doing a scene in a swimming pool with a couple of other girls.
"It was a high budget thing." Jade said they took a break from the filming only to find one of the girls indoors bending over and checking out her ass in a mirror.
"She was pulling her cheeks apart," said Jade "She's going, oh my God, I don't know what it is but I went tanning and I have these things all over me."
Jade said it turned out that the girl had herpes, and to make matters worse, the makeup artist went to cover it up.
"I just took one look at that bitch and said no fucking way." Jade said she went straight to the director.
"I don't know what the fuck is going on but she's got some herpes shit all over her and the makeup artist is covering this shit up." Jade said the director could see that she was freaking out and rearranged the girl out of the scene.
"And you'll just give her a little kiss on the mouth to say goodbye," Jade was told.
"Are you fucking serious?" Jade asked the director. "I may as well fuck the bitch if you want me to kiss her on the fucking mouth!" Jade said she couldn't believe it, that the whole experience was vile.
"And even though it was covered in makeup you could still see what it was. And this is a top company, a top director- a big fucking production. I just fucking died." Towers said he never experienced anything like that.
Jade said thank God she walked into the room when she did, otherwise "the bitch" would have been in the scene."And I would have gone to lick her pussy. By the time I would have found out, it would have been too late."
Peaks said she had read something recently on the Internet about some girl who shit on the two guys she was working with.
"Then when she was done shitting on them she puked on herself three times," said Peaks. "I read that and I'm like, Jesus, I think I've seen every drug known to man but I still couldn't figure out which drug would cause that girl to do that." Peaks said she was also reading some story about how Joel Lawrence was on a set.
"I guess this happens all the time with the anal stuff- the girls don't clean right," Peaks continued. "And then it just gets splattered over everybody in the room. Joel Lawrence was saying that he was in a room and the girl didn't clean up right and just everybody in the room was totally splattered, including the walls." Jade used those examples to remind Towers why he got back into porn.
"You came back for a reason, didn't you?" Jade then asked Peaks about her modeling agency. Peaks said it was going really good and that she gets more and more girls all the time.
"I'm still specializing in the big boob girls," she said. Getting back to the scat issue, Peaks asked Jade if she ever did something like that for a custom video. Jade claims she hasn't but has been asked all the time."I can't- I'm English," said Jade. "It's just wrong."
"But you'll do d.p.'s like crazy," Peaks hastened to remind her.
"I used to," Jade said. Asked if she ever put paint up her asshole, Jade said she did that. Peaks took it another step and asked Jade if she'd do it on a personal video for, say like, $2500 if it wasn't being sold anywhere. Jade said she couldn't do it. Peaks said she's received a lot of offers to do it and is seriously considering it if the price is right. "Fuck yeah."
Peaks said she just had a guy who wanted to watch her sitting on a toilet taking a shit; another guy wanted her in heels taking the bible apart while she was cussing.
