[Las Vegas Weekly]- Aural sex: The porn industry digs guerrilla marketing as much as any other industry, and at the AVN Adult Entertainment Expo, its annual “look what I’ve got” showoff frenzy, if you can attention in unexpected places, you’ve got an advantage.

Sex usually sells, of course, but on the Expo floor it’s already all skin and explicit come-ons. It’s hard out there to pimp your product, to pop out from the field. So kudos to Pink Visual for the most startling marketing gimmick of the year.

At least one of the men’s rooms at the Sands Expo Center was plastered with posters displaying Pink Visual’s roster of reality and gonzo girls, but the punchline was at the urinals. As each newcomer arrived and unzipped, the sound of a woman vocalizing moistly materialized. Everyone looked around, trying to figure out where it was coming from – maybe one of the stalls?

Turns out that Pink Visual ingeniously replaced each of the standard “urinal cakes” with a custom-made motion-activated speaker, that set off a volley of pleased-sounding moans and groans. Men’s rooms aren’t customarily chatty places, but this guerrilla gambit was a real conversation starter, and sent every guy out of the bathroom with a happy grin.
