But she woke up several hours later in a hospital, her boyfriend Jason telling her that she was foaming out of her nose and mouth.
“They tried to resuscitate me. Nothing happened,” she said. “They called the paramedics- the salt they broke in front of your nose didn’t work.” Wankus took that to mean that Gauge was basically down for the count. Gauge said she woke up the next morning about four hours later. “They had to revive me as I had a .4 alcohol level.” The legal limit being .08, Wankus suspected that Gauge had two shots that she remembered. “It was way beyond two shots.” Gauge said, true, that’s all that she remembers.
“Once I start drinking whiskey I don’t stop,.” she explained. Noting that she almost died, Gauge said her heart practically stopped at one point. Although her stomach was subsequently pumped, Gauge did her Saturday night feature show. “Three of them,” she said. “I just got out of the hospital and I had to go straight to the club and do my shows at 6, 9 and 12. So I’m there for six hours dying.” Gauge explained that she had some souvenirs from the hospital still on her body, including needle marks in her arm and the top of her hands. “Then I had the little heart monitor sticky pad.”
Gauge also mentioned that her vagina hurt because she had a catheter stuck in there. “My sticky pads, I pulled them off but they always leave a residue. The longer you’re out and around- I had hair stuck to them.” Gauge explained that as she rolled around the stage, she’d pick up debris on her body. “I tried to turn it around to my benefit and started having guys sticking dollars on my sticky spots.” Wankus asked Gauge if after her show that night she had a drink.
“No I didn’t,” she said. “Weed, yes. Xanax, no.”
