UK- A 59-YEAR-old man forced an under-age schoolgirl to watch a video of adults having sex and later groped her as she lay in bed asleep, a court heard.

Alan Grinnell, of Fulbeck Road, Scunthorpe, yesterday started his trial at Grimsby Crown Court, having denied charges of causing a child to watch sexual activity and sexual activity with a child.

Mark Kendall, prosecuting, said the girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, met Grinnell about three months before the alleged sex attack. She, at that time, knew a young boy who was living at his address and she would pay him visits.

The boy later moved out but Grinnell continued to telephone her and ask her to drop by, which she did on a regular basis.

Following her complaint, the girl was interviewed by police. The meeting was filmed and yesterday a tape of the interviewed was played to the court.

She told jurors she met Grinnell shortly before her 14th birthday and when she was at his house, he would speak to her about sex.

She told officers she knew what he was talking about but said: “I felt a bit uncomfortable.”

The trial continues today.
