NEW YORK – Gina Gershon, star of the IFC docuseries “Rocked With Gina Gershon,” says she’d love to run Playboy magazine.

“I wish someone would buy it and I could run it. I feel so strongly about this. Because I just think especially in today’s world it could be a really great magazine,” Gershon told reporters recently, according to AP Radio. “Their pictures are horrible now. They have to make it like cool ’70s style.”

The 41-year-old actress said she was finally ready to pose for Playboy – until she learned about the type of layout the editors wanted to do.

“Playboy used to be amazing. And they just are blowing it. … It’s cheesy now, I think Playboy’s really cheesy.”

“Rocked With Gina Gershon” is about the band Gershon toured with and their efforts to distribute a movie of the tour.

Gershon said she’s improving as a rocker. “I think my songs are OK. I think my guitar playing has gotten better but I’m good enough now to know that I’m not that great.”
