Porn Valley- Setting some kind of record for most media interviews, Hannah Harper was a guest of The Sports Swami last week. Swami was asking Harper about a movie she did called Kiss Me Deadly in which Harper plays a serial killer. Harper said it was about a school for bad girls, delinquents. Harper said she was going to watch a mainstream film called The Craft as a source of inspiration.

Harper said she was worried about playing a serial killer but the part was fun. “I did a hot scene with Steven St. Croix,” she added. Harper said she wanted to get a copy for herself from from Sin City so she could actually watch it. Harper said she generally doesn’t watch her own movies.

Swami asked her about her reputation as a perfectionist. “You get to the stage where you’re so critical of yourself and doubtful,” she replied. “It affects how you perform instead of just going into a scene to have a good time and have fun with the person you’re working with.”

Swami asked how she, Aurora Snow and Shay Sweet co-exist as contract performers, and, if there was a fight between her and Aurora, who would win. Harper couldn’t answer that. “She’s pretty buff.”

Harper said Sweet and Snow are two of the sweetest girls she knows in the business. Harper also mentioned that she’s never had sex with Snow, either. “We’ve been in the same movie and done promo stuff together.” Harper suspects that when they do have a scene together there’d be a good time because Snow’s wild and Harper’s submissive. “I think it will work.”

Swami noted that it’s been about two years that Harper and Ben English have been running L.A. Direct Models. Harper was asked if she ever thought the company would be as big as it is.

“Now all the top talent seem to want to work for L.A. Direct,” Swami observed. Harper attributed it to hard work. “You would not believe the number of hours we work here, particularly Ben,” she said. “We’re always able to be reached on the phone if there’s ever a problem with a producer or director. They can always reach one of us. There’s seven of us working for the agency now.”

With the HIV moratorium, Swami asked Harper if the agency was ever tempted to send girls out on jobs.

“Other modeling agencies tried to get girls to work during the freeze,” Swami observed. Harper said some of the companies started shooting solo scenes and girl-girl. “We were trying to book other stuff for our girls,” she admitted. “We were trying to book appearances or stuff with Playboy because obviously on the one hand we have our talent and they’re afraid and are reluctant to work; but they’re also struggling for money and need to pay rent. There were the constant phone calls about how can I pay my rent. So we tried to keep the work going but obviously not putting the talent at risk. We were very careful about printing out the updated quarantine lists from AIM.”

Swami said it appears that L.A. Direct is getting all the top talent coming from across the pond. “You’re getting all the British talent; all the European talent.” On the other hand, Harper said one of the hardest things to do is convince English girls to come over here and work.

“I understand why,” she said. “Because three years ago I was in England working. Everyone in England told me not to go to America that they’ll treat you very badly. You will be doing gangbangs with six black guys. That’s what we’re fighting against with the English talent pool. Ben and I love bringing English girls here because we know the big difference the industry is here. The rates are higher; it’s more professional, the girls are looked after more.” Harper said every time they get girls like Jamie Brooks they think that’s great.

Swami said Harper seems to have achieved what no other female British performers have achieved. “You’re maybe one of the top people in this industry, and you have clout. Does that help recruiting these girls?”

Harper seemed to think so. “I’ve been very lucky with the opportunities that have been offered to me,” she said. “Ben keeps me very driven; he keeps me very focused.” Harper said she also has the perspective of knowing what it’s like to work in England and over here. “I’ve been an English girl wondering whether or not to come over here and take that chance to work.”

Swami asked about some of the new girls L.A. Direct has signed which the industry should be on the look out for. Harper said Kelly Kline was a very sweet girl. “She’s living in my house- I love her to pieces.” Harper was also very complimentary of Ariana Jollee. “She’s already made a name for herself. She’s incredibly in demand and is going to win some awards. Her name’s going to continue to grow.”

With 35 girls currently in her stable, Harper was asked how she keeps everyone happy and focused. “It’s something we’re very aware that could happen,” Harper said. “We’re very aware of trying to prevent that from happening. I think we’re going to take the agency in a different direction. Particular agents are going to focus on particular girls. We’re going to split the agency up into groups. Instead of one agent booking 45 girls we’ll have 1 agent booking 15 girls, to keep everybody going out to scenes and being in front of directors and producers.”

Swami said Ben English has been taking a beating because he’s the bulldog and Harper’s the one playing the good cop. “What is Ben English really like in the office?”

“He’s business through and through straight down the line,” Harper replied. “He’s very genuine. If he says he’ll do something he’ll absolutely do that for you; no b.s., no lying.” Harper said English likes doing things a certain way. “He pushes to have it done that way. I think that’s where he gets into conflicts with some people. The success of Direct Models is largely due to Ben English.”

Swami asked Harper what changes she planned to make on her website, www.hannahharper.net

Harper changed webmasters a couple of moths back and is very happy with her site now. “I have a lot more behind the scenes stuff on my site. Hopefully we’ll set up a live webcam so I can do shows.” Harper said she responds to e-mails, does diary entries and shoots the content with girls that she really wants to have up on her site. “But I’m not very skilled at a computer- let’s put it that way,” she said. Harper said it was a joint effort between herself and her webmaster.

Swami then tried to link Harper with David Beckham in some nonsense romance rumor. “He met you at a party and tried to take you back to the room. You rejected him.” Harper said she never met Beckham but adores his wife. “If his wife [one of the Spice Girls] came up to me and tried to whisk me away to a hotel room that would probably be a different story.”

Harper said, however, rumors about her and Mary Carey tend to be true. “Ben knows I go out at night with my girlfriends. We all get drunk and silly and fool around. And that’s as far as it goes, really.” Swami wondered if there was any jealousy between Carey and English.

“There’s no jealousy,” she replied. Harper was asked, if given a choice to spend her life with one person, who would it be, Carey or English. Harper seemed genuinely perplexed with an answer. “Wow, I have to choose?” she asked. Harper said it would be English under those circumstances. “Because he’s been behind me and helped me and we’ve built up so much together. He’s a lot older than me – Ben English.”

Harper conceded that English, by the time, she’s ready to retire, might be too old for her. “It might be Mary Carey after all,” she said on second-thought.

Harper was then asked when she wanted to settle down and have a family. “When do you see yourself doing that?” Swami asked her.

“Ben doesn’t want children,” said Harper sounding again a bit staggered. “For me? No time soon, anyway.”
