Jason Sechrest posts on www.jasoncurious.com: According to an inside source, this morning Harlow Cuadra and Joe Kerekes [pictured r and l respectively] pleaded "not guilty" to all charges against them. Though Barry Taylor has been removed from counsel due to conflict of interest, the dynamic duo that ran BoyBatter.com, now accused of the murder of Cobra Video owner Bryan Kocis, will fight extradition. The federal government has supposedly seized all of their assetts.
I'm told one of the most interesting pieces of information the affidavit provides is that police believe many of Cobra Video's masters and model releases were destroyed prior to the fire. Allegedly, the area where Kocis kept all of Cobra's material was severely thrashed!
There's more than a few things here that don't add up, leaving more holes in this story than any of Cobra's movies.
Brent Corrigan and Grant Roy have now been named as "informers," having assisted the police in gathering the evidence necessary against Cuadra and Kerekes during a secretly recorded conversation at, of all places, a nude beach. This leaves for a lot of loose ends and unanswered questions.
First of all, you don't kill someone because they have one of a hundred "rival gay porn companies" and want to work with one of the stars under contract. That motive is totally ludicrous to anyone who works in the adult entertainment business. So ludicrous, in fact, it was spoofed in a movie that Corrigan starred in, The Velvet Mafia. It's almost as though the supposed motive and plot of this murder is lifted directly from the movie's script.
Furthermore, if the leaked quotes from the recorded beach tapes are true, what is with Harlow saying he felt like he got "revenge"? Revenge for what? How did he know Bryan?
It is also now revealed by the media that Corrigan and Roy claim during the initial Vegas meetings between the four, murder was hinted at by Cuadra and Kerekes to get Kocis out of the way. Though the quote given, where they ask what if Bryan were to leave the country, seems a far cry from murder.
At the very least, because of those Vegas meetings, Corrigan and Roy definitely knew who Cuadra was when the "person of interest" bulletin featuring a photo of Cuadra was released to the press. So why was I the first person to call the police with Cuadra's escort profile and contact info nearly 24 hours later? Why didn't they call?
And most importantly, the biggest burning question of all is why Cuadra and Kerekes would discuss the murder so incredibly openly with Corrigan and Roy -- unless they trusted them because they too were involved.
