In the never ending national talent search to land an actress for the coveted Jenna Jameson biopic - if and when it ever gets made - Scarlett Johansson’s name has come up.
That was Jameson basically coming up with the name, and you’d have to figure it was cheap p.r. talk and never a realistic option or consideration. My personal musings have suggested the embattled Tara Reid, but depending on which tabloid is to believed, Reid’s blood work supposedly contains more alcohol than a gallon bottle of Grey Goose.
However in what was a traumatic set of circumstances this weekend, I think my relentless search for a Jameson candidate is finally over. I was given a copy of a movie called Switch Killer to look at. A friend had worked on the crew of the picture and urged me to check it out. Which I did.
As a movie, it’s an auto wreck but, like any good highway calamity, it’s the kind you can’t avert your eyes from. Here’s the plot. A chick is beat up pretty bad by her boyfriend and heads for Las Vegas to become a stripper and indulge the lesbian lifestyle.
The boyfriend leaves an eerie voice mail and vows to change. A promise he takes quite literally. For the time being, thing’s are pretty cool in stripperland- that is until this knife-happy, stalking character in platform heels shows up who reminds you of Marilyn Manson.
No attempts to tax the audience with long and ponderous thought process here, it’s the boyfriend who’s now a post op tranny.
The tranny boyfriend systematically eliminates his girlfriend’s new playmates from the love roster until the two of them have a Texas chainsaw showdown. For real.
Yet, while this is a totally weird pic with bizarre subject matter, it’s not a badly made one. The girl who plays the stripper is a relatively unheard of actress named Cara Jo Basso.
On this one- because the accompanying photo and other Basso shots available on the Internet http://www.jamd.com/image/g/755719 really give no indication- you just have to take my word for it.
In the film, Basso certainly has the Jenna look and she even has other similar mainstream credits to Jameson's like Accidental Stripper, Sex Substitute 2 and Corpse Grinders 2. To me it’s a done deal.
