From www.nydailynews.com- The mother of the “Manhattan Manny” refuses to believe charges that her son molested at least four boys and collected kiddie porn.

Jonathan Then’s family told the Daily News he’s just a hardworking college student – not the perverted monster described by prosecutors.

“He’s good, he’s very responsible. He’s always been respectful,” Hilda Abinader, 42, insisted, trembling and fighting back tears. “He’s never, never been in trouble with kids before. He’s a good son!”

Investigators have painted a much darker picture of the handsome 21-year-old with a winning smile who proudly called himself “an amazing big brother,” and whose “Manhattan Manny” Web site says he is a live-in nanny to two boys in Tribeca.

Cops arrested him three weeks ago for allegedly molesting a Brooklyn boy. He posted bail after three days in jail and was released.

He was busted again Thursday at Hunter College, where he’s an education major, and charged with preying on three Manhattan boys.

Charges of sexual assault against a child, 14 counts of sexual abuse, possession of child pornography, and other crimes could send him to jail for life.

A prosecutor warned that Then “had access to hundreds of other young boys” in some of the city’s swankiest neighborhoods in recent years.

His kid sister, Mayroby, 16, said he wouldn’t hurt any child.

“He wouldn’t ever do something like this,” she said as she struggled to console her mom in the living room of their Inwood apartment.

She described her brother as “really traumatized” by his three days in jail last month but didn’t say why.

“He was doing so good lately, he was getting back to normal and sleeping and eating again and then they took him away,” she said.

“Us? We’re doing the best we can, but we can’t believe this is really happening,” she said. “It hurts.”
