MOUNT VERNON, Mo. — from www.ky3.com- A former Greenfield High School music teacher now is accused of having sex with a 16-year-old student at her home here. The Lawrence County prosecuting attorney charged Alison Peck, 23, with statutory sodomy and statutory rape on Monday.
The Dade County prosecuting attorney charged Peck last week with two counts of statutory rape. Those charges resulted from the Greenfield student telling a Missouri State Highway Patrol detective that he and Peck had sex at a park in Dade County. He also said he visited Peck at her home in Mount Vernon and had sexual relations numerous times.
The detective wrote in his probable cause statement that the boy said he started texting Peck around last Christmas. He said that led to the relationship becoming sexual. The detective said Peck, in a separate interview, basically confirmed the boy’s account.
After the Dade County sheriff heard rumors about the affair in April, he asked the Highway Patrol to investigate. The school put Peck, a first-year teacher who graduated from Drury University last year, on administrative leave. She later resigned.
Law officers arrested Peck in Springfield on the Lawrence County charges. She was in the Greene County jail on Monday.
