Usually when a naked woman steals a cab she’s one of those sweat hogs whose mug shots show up on The Smoking Gun website. Not this time.

And when she didn’t get one, police say the 29-year-old St. Clair Shores resident responded like any rational adult: by getting naked and stealing a cab.

Covington Police spokesman Capt. Jack West tells The Times-Picayune that Gille hailed a cab from a motel around 1. a.m. Sunday and originally asked for a ride south of the city.

Sept. 13, Nola.com: But when she arrived at the destination, Gille refused to get out of the cab and began behaving erratically, West said. The woman first took off her clothing, then demanded that the cabbie take her to Michigan, he said.

The driver tried to get Gille out of the vehicle and, when that proved impossible, drove to the Covington police station to get help, West said. While the cabbie ran inside to find an officer, Gille jumped into the front seat and drove off, he said.

After demanding a ride of more than 1,000 miles, police say Gille made it about a block. They found her naked in the back seat of the parked cab.

Gille was charged with unauthorized use of a movable and obscenity. In a not-at-all-shocking development, WDSU reports investigators believe she may have been under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

COVINGTON, La. — from www.clickondetroit.com – A Michigan woman has been charged with obscenity after police in Louisiana said she stripped naked in the back of a cab then drove off in it.

Covington police said 29-year-old St. Clair Shores, Mich., resident Jennifer Gille picked up a cab at about 1 a.m. on Sunday and demanded the driver take her to Michigan.

Covington is about an hour east of Baton Rouge, La.

Police said when the woman began to strip and refuse to get out of the cab, the driver drove to the police station and went inside for help.

Police said the woman then jumped in the front of the cab and took off.

The cab was found parked in a lot about a block from the police station with Gille inside.

Police said she continued to refuse to put her clothes on or get out of the cab. She was consequently arrested.

Gille is charged with unauthorized use of a movable car for stealing the cab and obscenity for exposing herself, police said.

Police think she had been heavily drinking or on drugs.

She is being held in the St. Tammany Parish Jail.
