from www.nbcphiladelphia.com – An Intercourse, Pa. district judge could be stripped of his seat if found guilty of “disrepute” by a judicial panel for allegedly handing out condom-filled acorns to women outside of the state Capitol.

Magisterial District Judge Isaac Stoltzfus inserted unwrapped condoms into hollowed out acorns and gave them to two female state employees outside the Capitol Sept. 21, reports the Intelligencer Journal.

“They make a nice afternoon snack, try them. I’ll be here tomorrow, let me know what you think,” Stoltzfus told the women, according to the complaint obtained by the Intelligencer Journal.

When the women opened the acorns and found the unwrapped condoms, they reported Stoltzfus to police. The 20-year veteran judge was cited for disorderly conduct but the charges were later dropped after prosecutors determined he hadn’t committed a crime.

During a deposition in the Judicial Conduct Board’s investigation, Stoltzfus said under oath that he “has collected, hollowed out, and placed unwrapped condoms inside thousands of acorns during his tenure as a Magisterial District Judge; and that he gave the condom-filled acorns to individuals appearing before him in his Court in order to raise awareness for the efficacy of condom use against unplanned pregnancy and disease,” reports the Intelligencer.

If the Court of Judicial Discipline finds Stoltzfus guilty of failing to act “in a manner that promotes public confidence in the integrity of the Judiciary,” he could be suspended with or without pay or removed from the bench, reports the Intelligencer Journal.
