AnnMarie Rios burst onto the scene in 2001 and soon became a star in the world of adult entertainment. After taking a yearlong hiatus to "find herself sexually and become more comfortable with herself and her body," she's back in action and better than ever. In the summer of 2008, Rios, 28, was hired to host Playboy TV's 69 Sexy Things To Do Before You Die, a travel show catering couples who want to learn about the sexiest places to vacation around the world, a perfect gig for this bilingual hottie.

She currently hosts a radio show, "AnnMarie Rios's Private Calls" on Sirius & XM Radio for Playboy. AnnMarie knows her way around the bedroom and isn’t afraid to share some candid advice. She’s going to be joining us once a week here on Latina.com to answer your most intimate questions. So go on…ask her anything!

We sat down with AnnMarie to find out how this smart Latina vixen got involved in this industry and what she’s learned about sex and relationships.

You started in the adult film business when you were just 19 years old! How did that happen?

I completely fell into it. I got my real estate license and I was working at a firm and I started going crazy wearing stockings and a suit—all day, every day. I was working nights and weekends and holidays and I had no life! My girl asked me to help her find a job dancing, and I saw an ad for nude modeling. Being so naive, I thought it was like Calvin Klein underwear or something. I convinced my girl to let me take her in and she ended up doing a movie with one of the guys in the office. They hit it off and he was cute and I wound up being in the film with her. I honestly didn’t even know what we were doing because I'd never seen an adult movie. I’d never even given a blow job. I know that sounds crazy!

What was the turning point when you realized that this was a really lucrative career choice and decided to pursue it full-throttle?

About two years into it, I started to notice more about myself sexually. Around that time, I signed my first contract to work just for one company and they put me on salary and sent me all over the country to talk to Howard Stern and do appearances. Then I signed a contract for Spice TV and hosted a show. It started out as just a supplement in between my real estate commissions. Then I realized I was making enough money and having fun and I didn’t even need to do real estate!

Your first movie was shot with a girlfriend—would you consider yourself bisexual?

I do like women, but I don’t often summon up enough courage to hit on them when I’m out. Girls are harder to read, so if you put yourself out there, it’s scarier. And I really enjoy women and being with women, however, if I were to ever one day settle down, it would be with a man and be more traditional.

You added your last name to your stage name in 2005, making your Latina roots more obvious. How has being a Latina in the industry changed over the years?

I really disliked being called Ann, so to clarify that AnnMarie was one name and to make sure people knew I was Latina I added a last name when I got back into the industry after taking a break for a year. The Latina niche is huge in the industry now! When I first started I could count the Latin girls in the business on one hand, and now they are flooding the gates. I definitely get love from my Latin people, mad love from the brothers—they tend to like my booty!

What does your family think about the whole situation? Do you hide it from them?

The first five years, I was able to hide it from them. My mom has known for years that I worked for Playboy, but thought it was just a job. Then, a couple of years back, one of my ex-boyfriends printed up fliers of Peter North and I doing the nasty and duct-taped them all over my grandmother's home. He wrote them a letter and gave them my website and everything. Now she knows that I work in the adult entertainment industry, and she’s cool about it. She just doesn’t ask about it, but if I talk about it, she’ll listen. She’s not weird or judgmental and she really has my back. I can’t say the same about everyone in my family though; some of them are really religious.

What do you think is the most useful thing that you have learned about sex and relationships since you have started out in the job?

The absolute most important thing that I have learned is how important communication is. You need to talk to the person you are having sex with or the person you are in love with. So many people are afraid to talk to their partners, especially during and about sex. That’s one of my fortes! I am verbally aggressive. I talk a lot and I want you to talk back to me. I always try to tell people that nobody knows how to read minds, so if you can’t tell that person what you want, how can they give it to you?

Are you currently in a relationship?

No, I'm single. You cannot be truly in love with some one and still be having sex with other people—whether it is for money or work. So until I hang up my porn-star hat, there is no way I’d allow myself to get into a serious relationship.

So, you're a porn star who believes in monogamy?

Well, I believe you have to be on the same page as your partner. Maybe you're not into monogamy, but if you want to be swingers, be open, be honest. If you want to hang from the ceiling in body paint and glitter, then just do it! Who cares? There just has to be agreement and understanding.
