Perhaps it was an attempt to make little children cry, but the NBC affiliate in the San Francisco Bay area ran an extreme close up of the face of James Raphael Mitchell who’s on trial for murder.
On first glance you’d swear it was a NASA photograph of the red planet Mars. So it would make sense that Mitchell, the blotchy skinned scion of the fabled Mitchell Brothers dynasty, would embrace the men from Mars defense.
With a history of domestic violence, irrationality and enough temporary restraining orders to house break OJ, Mitchell, 29, is accused of murdering his girlfriend Danielle Keller with a metal softball bat.
Witnesses claim they saw Mitchell club Keller like a baby seal then run away from the crime scene holding a baby. In his defense, Mitchell now says two other guys did it.
The TV show The Fugitive ran from 1963 to 1967 on the premise of an innocent doctor on the lam, accused of a murder committed by a one-armed man. Mitchell is offering two suspects, one with halitosis and has enough plot twists to get at least an HBO TV pilot out of this....
