Jeff Mullen writes: Hello Gene,

I read with great interest on Adult FYI about the situation regarding the We are the World XXX cancer benefit for Henri Pachard. I wanted to make it clear that All Media Play and X-Play as promised have already made a donation to Ron Sullivan’s family and they have responded with a wonderful note. Our effort had nothing to do with the big movie that was shot which was organized by Amber Lynn.

Ron emailed me ten days ago upon receiving our check which also included a generous check donation from Derek Hay of LA Direct Models. Ron writes: “Thank you, Jeff, for your most generous and needed gift. My wife's in tears. I won't tell you if I am...With all best wishes, Ron Sullivan.”

I am saddened to see politics creep into any benefit situation but I wanted to make sure that fans and those in our industry understand that our fundraising efforts from DVD sales of Not the Bradys XXX were a big success and actually did end up in Ron’s hands.

Both Scott David and I were very happy that our success was able to benefit a true pioneer of our industry. We pledged to make a donation and that is exactly what we did to help a family in need out.

I have had a few conversations with Amber Lynn who I do believe acted with a warm heart when she began to organize her big benefit production. Unfortunately, politics have crept in and now it apparently is on a slow pace towards completion.

My unsolicited advice for those that hold the cards for the benefit movie: Do whatever it takes to get the movie sold and out now!

I just wanted to make clear our position but I cannot sign off without leaving a note regarding Bill Margold’s message that you published today. Shame on you Bill Margold for making the following comment regarding our efforts. "I thought, quite frankly, that the image of the Pachard Cancer Fund on Hillary Scott's chest was even a little bit too tactless for me.”

Tactless? If Hillary Scott’s image and the tagline “Now is the time let’s fight cancer” warrants your comment at a time like this, then you are an idiot but it was a Not the Bradys XXX flyer that we used to get our message across that a portion of DVD sales were being sent to Ron Sullivan.

We expeditiously did exactly what we said we would do and are very proud of our efforts. I am a bit surprised at your message to Gene Ross that you would attack one of the guys that actually put his money where his mouth was. Shame on you!

I cannot believe I just made a comment like that in the media but Henri Pachard deserves better.
