MANHATTAN - In a trademark infringement lawsuit between heavyweights, Jews for Jesus has sued Google in Federal Court, claiming the Internet giant has incorporated the plaintiff's trademark in a program that helps bloggers set up sites, and directs Web surfers to blog sites. "For more than 30 years, Plaintiff has built up tremendous recognition in its Jews for Jesus mark," JforJ claims.

But Google has sneakily incorporated the trademark in a subdomain of its blogspot.com domain, through Blogger software, which Google offers to help customers set up Web sites. Google is using the sneaky link to advertise and sell its services, deceptively leading the public to believe the two parties are affiliated, JforJ claims. It says Google has not responded to cease-and-desist letters. Jews for Jesus is represented by Thelen Redi & Priest.
