If you ever wondered if reality shows just might be heavily scripted, pay attention. Joan lives in a swanky New York apartment, for real, but for the show, she somehow moves in with daughter Melissa Rivers in L.A.—handier to the studio, no doubt. They hire a scantily-dressed nanny for son/grandson Cooper, 9, a boyfriend moves in, and the “plot” takes off. Ho-hum.
