Las Vegas, NV -- K-nected, the first private online community exclusively for current and former professional athletes, is excited to announce its First Annual Bowling with the Playboy Bunnies event benefiting The Giving Back Fund, a national nonprofit organization that promotes new philanthropy within the sports and entertainment communities. Bowling with Bunnies is a VIP invitation-only charity event for NHL players and their guests during the 2009 NHL Awards weekend in Las Vegas.
"I am excited to be pulling guys together to support this great cause. As professional athletes we all share a unique bond. K-nected's mission is to equip us with the tools to grow those connections," said fifteen-year NHL veteran Jason Woolley [pictured].
We are honored to be the beneficiary of this event. As an organization that helps athletes give back, we feel a strong kinship to the important mission of k-nected. Both k-nected and GBF are about forming positive, supportive communities for professional athletes. Both organizations' core functions are about helping the athlete become the best person he can be.
The Palms Casino Resort will be hosting the 2009 NHL Awards show June 18th and a variety of events surrounding show. Bowling with Bunnies is the only Palms-Playboy event this weekend. Attendees will have a chance to mix and mingle in the exclusive setting of the unique Kingpin Fantasy Suite at the Palms Casino Resort all while supporting a great cause and of course, bowling with the world famous Playboy Bunnies from the Palms Casino Playboy Club.

About k-nected
k-nected (pronounced connected) … joined or linked together
K-nected is the first private online community exclusively for current and former professional athletes. Think LinkedIn or Facebook but exclusively for pro athletes in the four major leagues - MLB, NBA, NFL and NHL. The company began in September 2007 and was founded by Jason Woolley a 15 year NHL alumni and Dennis Sarafa, a Partner in a Professional Search Firm. The company was founded on the premise of changing the way transition happens for pro athletes. Key to this is providing current and former pro athletes a forum to network with their peers within and across leagues for personal and professional reasons. These relationships will serve them throughout their lives. Members benefit from a pre built network of all of their current and former teammates, the ability to create and join groups, write blogs, discuss topics in forums, and communicate confidentially within the site. There is no cost for players to join and we employ a strict security model to ensure our members online safety.
