NEW YORK — The documentary “American Cannibal” is scheduled to be shown at the Tribeca Film Festival this spring.

However, Kevin Blatt, who is famous for producing the Paris Hilton sex video that gained notoriety on the Internet, has filed a cease and desist order to stop the movie from being shown.

“American Cannibal” shows what people would do to get on television. One person was even asked if they would eat their partner’s finger or toe, hence the name, “American Cannibal.”

The makers of the documentary interviewed Blatt about reality television while he was working on his newest project, called “The Ultimate Ultimate Challenge.”

However, Blatt’s attorney, Rachel Kugel, said he also talked about his successes in getting the Paris Hilton sex tape to the world while the cameras were rolling. Kugel said some of those comments were not meant for the public, and he wants them taken out of the movie.

“There are some conversations that we are concerned are part of the final cut of the movie that have nothing to do with the reality show,” Kugel said.

She said neither Blatt nor she have seen a final cut of “American Cannibal,” and until they are sure those business comments are not in it, they want the movie stopped.

The makers of “American Cannibal,” Perry Grebin and Michael Nigro, were scheduled to hold a news conference Thursday to explain a lawsuit they have brought against Blatt and why they will show their documentary.
