Detroit- The Kid Rock sex tape looks as if it's going to disappear faster than you can say "Bawitdaba."
Lawyers for Kid Rock reached an agreement in principle with attorneys for California porn distributors World Wide Red Light District that the temporary injunction halting the release of the tape, as well as an online trailer for the film, will be continued without the necessity of a further court hearing, Rock's attorney, William Horton, said Friday.
Paperwork that would permanently block the release of the tape is expected to be filed early next week.
Last month, Red Light District -- famous for releasing the Paris Hilton sex tape a few years back -- announced it had obtained the 45-minute tape, filmed on a tour bus in 1999 and featuring Rock, ex-Creed singer Scott Stapp and four women, and planned on releasing it in stores later this year.
"It's one of the best celebrity sex tapes I've ever seen," Red Light District president David Joseph told The News.
Rock sued to have the tape blocked and was granted a temporary injunction by U.S. District Judge John Feikens. The matter was set to go to court March 23.
A call to Red Light District attorney Ray Tamaddon was not returned Friday.
Stapp -- who claims the tape was stolen from his safe -- sued separately earlier this week to block the release of the tape. "We're hoping it goes away, and that's it," Stapp told The News earlier this month.
A female claiming to be one of the stars of the tape and going only by the name "Jane Doe" sued Stapp and Red Light District last week alleging emotional distress and invasion of privacy over the release of the tape.
