Los Angeles- from www.latimes.com – Before the Steven Soderbergh film “The Girlfriend Experience,” Sasha Grey’s notoriety was of the adult variety. Not anymore. After a run on HBO’s “Entourage” and a stepped-up red carpet fashion game, Grey has the swagger of a working actress and the social calendar to match. Get her recommends below on good live music, golf clubs and places to avoid Charlie Sheen.
Q: We hear you’re a sports gal, so tell us your pre-game ritual.
These days, I’m a fan of sleeping in on Sundays and waking up 10 minutes before the game starts. Half the time I’m on an airplane, so I enjoy my ESPN SportsCenter highlights.
Q: When on the ground, where do you prefer to dine in our fair hamlet?
Lately my favorite place is the Bazaar [SLS Hotel, 465 S. La Cienega Blvd.]. But you can’t go wrong with Pace [2100 Laurel Canyon Blvd.] or El Coyote [7312 Beverly Blvd.]. I have a fourth favorite, but if I told you I’d have to kill you.
Q: Any favorite clubs of the moment?
Callaway drivers. I hit 400 yards every time.
Q: You flirt! What about a favorite dive bar or evening haunt?
Stone Bar [5221 Hollywood Blvd.]. It’s more of a place to hear great music.
Q: That place was just relaunched as Harvard and Stone, by the guys who did La Descarga. Where should a guy take someone on a first date?
The New Beverly Cinema [7165 Beverly Blvd.] or the Nuart [11272 Santa Monica Blvd.] for a movie. Or, if you’re wack in the head, Charlie Sheen’s Maybach.
Q: Where’s a great place to eat late night?
If you find one, please tell me. I’m always looking for a place to find late-night dining that isn’t fast-food quality.
We’re sure you’ve got a few fans with suggestions, Ms. Grey.
