from www.blackbookmag.com – Over the weekend, while you were scouring the Internet for early reviews of Sundance screenings, Lee Roy Myers and WoodRocket posted an adult parody based on the popular children’s television series, SpongeBob Squarepants, because Michael Bay shouldn’t be the only one tainting the cultural cornerstones of your youth.
The opening titles, which feature an animated “porn pirate” asking, “Are ye legal-aged adults ready ta watch some porrrrrn?” are surprisingly true to form, and afterwards, we are introduced to SpongeKnob, who “lives in a vibrator under the sea” and courts his astronaut friend Sandy.
Myers, the “thinking man’s pornographer” who spoke with BlackBook back in 2011, is responsible, and SpongeKnob SquareNuts: An XXX Parody joins a veritable pantheon of pop culture works Myers has turned into adult entertainment, including the XXX Parodies of WKRP In Cincinnati, Seinfeld, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Family Guy, The Big Lebowski, as well as the kind of amazingly titled A Wet Dream on Elm Street.
The whole thing isn’t terribly surprising considering the Internet exists and you can take a wrong turn on Tumblr or FanFiction.net and find far more shocking examples of sexed-up cartoons, but can you imagine the meetings Myers and the rest of the parties involved had about this, though? Writing the parody lyrics to the theme song, debating on how to best present SpongeBob and Sandy’s live-action adult avatars? The deliberation over whether or not to include a public service announcement encouraging safe sex, lest you end up with a case of the Krusty Krabs?
