San Francisco Sheriff Mike Hennessey said Francisco -- an institutional police officer with the Sheriff's Department who goes by the stage name Rena Leon -- went on leave after she and her night job were very publicly outed.
Since then, she has appeared at two X-rated film conventions down south.
This past week, after mulling over her prospects, Francisco decided to resign from the Sheriff's Department.
As for the official react: "I think both she and the department are more comfortable with her being out of uniform," Hennessey said.
