Hollywood, CA- Even though adult movie director Will Ryder is enjoying his best-year-ever in the porn business with a steady string of commercial and critical hit movies, nothing could have prepared him for winning a lifetime achievement award Monday night in Tampa Florida.
“At first I thought they called the wrong guy,” Ryder joked when asked about the prestigious award presented by NightMoves Magazine at the 17th annual NightMoves Awards hosted by Ron Jeremy and Teagan Presley.
“When I learned that NightMoves wanted to bestow this incredible honor on me I thought wait a minute aren’t I too young to be getting a lifetime achievement award but then newbie talent Courtney Page handed me a beer and called me old man and I knew right there that the timing was perfect,” Ryder said.
Veteran adult movie reviewer Art Koch presented the award onstage to Will Ryder and had plenty to say about the director and his alter-persona Jeff Mullen from the stage and then later backstage where strippers changed costumes and porn stars gathered over cocktails.
“There’s been nobody in the adult movie business in recent memory that has had the impact that he has had and with such an impressive track record of hit movies we all knew he was the best choice to receive our award this year,” Koch said from backstage at the Dallas Bull nightclub in Tampa where the show was held.
“It really is an honor and sometimes we get so busy at X-Play producing, directing and marketing our movies that we forget that we’re having a real impact on the overall sales of this business,” Ryder said. “All I know is that I love to tell a story and make people laugh and if they can jerk one off in the process it’s a win-win situation.”
“Look at how many companies have jumped on the parody bandwagon because of Will Ryder,” Koch remarked. “That’s a testament to his vision and leadership.”
“The guy is a hit-maker that’s for sure,” said Hustler/ LFP Video’s creative director Drew Rose who has known Jeff Mullen/Will Ryder for over a decade. “Nobody does it better and I really think that would be difficult to argue. For him to get a lifetime achievement award is amazing but every year he brings it big time and his body-of-work just this year alone says director-of-the-year by a wide margin.”

“I love working with Will Ryder,” said Teagan. “I don’t make movies for anybody other than my own company Skinworxxx except for very special occasions when he calls me and to see him win this award is awesome,” she said.
“I really think he deserves this lifetime achievement award. He’s really great and so much fun to be around,” reflected Kayden Kross who is a strong candidate for Female Performer of the Year for her work in movies such as Flight Attendants and The 8th Day. “Will Ryder is crazy, sexy, funny and now a lifetime achievement winner. Wow that’s really hot,” she confessed.
“I want to thank Nightmoves I had a great time in Tampa,” Ryder offered. “I love this business and just want to say stop giving it away for free. I’m talking to the companies not the girls,” he joked.
